I was born and raised on the West Coast and still call it home. I live with my husband, and 3 wonderfully goofy dogs, in a small coastal town south of San Francisco, but spend as much time as possible traveling the world.
I think in pictures. I always have, even as a small child. So, it came as no real surprise when I fell in love with photography. It was such a natural fit for me and a perfect creative outlet for my very busy mind. I see the world as a big canvas, waiting to be explained through making photographic images.
What I love about photography, just like meditation, is that it focuses my attention into a moment of time. Without distraction, I can concentrate on making a singular image~one that reflects my sense of time and space.
The act of photographing calms me, gives my focus and helps explain the world to me. It has given me license to talk to strangers, go places I have never been before, and sit on the ground and watch bugs in the dirt.
